7. HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN COLLECTING: started collecting in 04
8. WHO DO YOU COLLECT AND WHY: use to collect Harvick, had to sell my collection when some financial troubles hit Collect a few select autograph sets now, and anything pretty that catches my eye
9. WHO IS YOU FAVORITE DRIVER AND WHY: Harvick, I liked his hot-headed nature when I started watching.
10. FAVORITE TRACK: Bristol, awesome to see all those people packed in to that little track (although I fear the COT has taken alot away from that track)
11. FAVORITE RACING MOMENT: Harvick edging Martin at Daytona to start this season...a close second is anytime I see a Hendrick car take a hard right turn into a wall! sorry
12. WHAT YOU LIKE BEST ABOUT NUTS: I like the people, have got to know several GREAT people here...a couple I consider among my closest friends. Especially this one redneck from TN that I've spent God knows how many hours on the phone with in the last 3 years
13. HOBBIES OUTSIDE OF RACING: Outside of racing, I collect Cleveland Indians Memorabilia...some vintage cards but mostly pennants, programs, and especially old nodders. Other than that, the kids keep me too busy for hobbies lol
14. COLLECTING HABITS: I don't display my stuff really, I have a large binder of Harvick cards I keep on my desk. Other than that, things are in toploads and screwdowns in 3 row boxes. Once I get my teammates sets done though, I'm going to get a nice wood display case for the wall.
15. WHAT OR WHO DO YOU COLLECT: My collection is mostly traders lol. I move quite a few cards and really enjoy that. I'm kinda obsessed with the teammates autograph sets at the moment, and am always searching for the ones I'm missing. aside from those, a couple small autograph sets and a few nice Harvicks I have stashed away I don't have much of a permanent collection. It's different than collecting a driver, but man have I owned some nice stuff!
16. FAVORITE PIECE IN YOUR COLLECTION: favorite piece is my traditions dual auto of Petty/Sr. I love the double/triple/quad autographs in general but that one is just a beautiful card.
17. MEMBER TESTAMENT: When I got into a bind and had to sell my Harvick collection, it made me pretty sad. I thought about getting out of the hobby at that point. Looking back though, it turned out ok. I paid some bills, and invested the rest. Eventually used that money for a down payment on a home... renting sucks in my opinion. Anyway, as I eased back into it, I started picking up things I thought other people would like. I really enjoy getting special cards to other collectors to enjoy. Sometimes it's better than finding something for yourself. During one of my trades to get a member here some Jr. cards she wanted I picked up a couple teammates autographs... I had just picked them up as future traders, but my daughter saw them and loved them. Since then, it's our obsession lol. My son doesn't follow cards or Nascar, but my daughter can tell you about any book value you wanna know as well as what the going cash rate for most cards is! She has a real knack for it, She's my trade manager. I have to run every trade by her! It's a good way for us to spend time together...makes her feel grown up when I ask her opion. Guess that's all.
